Your supermarket analogy rings true. If only.

I've seen a lot of death as a nurse, but it's a subject and a reality I still have a hard time with personally. Especially those unexpected ones when someone was just living life then BOOM.

And, yes - the person who has passed is no longer suffering - if they were in the first place - but of course, a wake of sadness and grief is always left behind.

I'm sorry for your losses. Some are easier than others, but we learn from them all.
