UGH. How horrid that you were kind enough to help these people out and this is what you got in return. It is wrong on so many levels. There is nothing worse than being taken advantage of, especially when they ripped off your daughter. Good for you calling them out. Although their actions are a lesson none of us want to have to instill in our kids, it does highlight how selfish actions can impact others.

I had a selfish experience happen to me years ago: finally succumbed to having a 'cleaning lady' to help me out but soon discovered food missing and my washer was always set on hot. So, I suspected what was going on. Caught her red handed doing her washing (on the hot cycle) when she was supposed to be cleaning my house! Threw her out instantly!!!
