Welcome, dear readers, followers, subscribers, clappers and commenters! Thanks for joining my inaugural ME-dium awards ceremony and reading what I hope to be an annual spiel on my accomplishments — and shortfalls — as a writer.
On April 6, 2021, I jumped ship from Vocal Media and joined Medium. I had only started writing two months before and was initially intimidated; Medium seemed like a more serious platform and decidedly more community-orientated. This key feature was something that was missing over at Vocal; feedback from readers.
Initially, I was a one-clap clapper and was too terrified to make comments on real writers' works. Did it matter what lil’ old me had to say?
Not in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine myself in my current position — a 1K following of some awesome peeps — and trust me, I have a pretty whacked-out imagination as soon as I hit the pillow. If only I could remember those dreams; they'd be the perfect writing…
