Weighing up the latest hype on Harry and Meghan
Harry is the talk of the world, yet again. Just days before his memoir Spare is released, the media is already in a frenzy about the Prince, the youngest son of King Charles III and the late Princess Diana.
They're honing in on a brotherly fight, a frost-bitten penis and the book's ghostwriter, J.R. Moehringer. Heck, the dust was barely settling from the Harry and Meghan Netflix documentary, a six-part series that aired on December 8, 2022, revealing more of the high-profile couple's battle with the palace and paparazzi.
I'm not a fan of idle gossip and despise tabloids with a passion. Their purpose isn't news; it's to sensationalize, twist and undermine the lives of famous people. Although I don’t read celebrity articles, I recently realized that despite not doing so, I was harbouring negative thoughts about Meghan and Harry.
Before watching their latest Netflix documentary, I was one of the eye-rollers, tut- tutters and finger wagglers whenever a news feed came in about them. I didn't indulge in the earlier Oprah interview because I had been listening to the social media rhetoric, was swayed by popular opinion and decided the couple was merely fuelling the media fire.
