My first thought is 'you cannot lead a horse to water....'

One of my sons was so not interested in schoolwork; admittedly didn't turn to drugs at that point but I was tearing my hair out. Now, he has found a passion and a direction and is a completely different kid.

I would ask him what he wants in life; the traditional what do you want to be question. Sounds lame, but sometimes at a younger age they are lost and are actually feeling the pressure to do something they don't necessarily see themselves doing or feel pressure into being groomed for.

It always comes down to the 'why'. So challenging these days with the Pandemic and social isolation, but try looking at his friends and who he is hanging out with. Encourage physical activity as it is a known stimulant for happy hormones.

Failing that, sometimes it takes a fall to see the bigger picture sadly.

I certainly would not be forking out $160K for school! (sheesh, you guys have it rough there for fees)
