I've spent the last few days unsubscribing from unsolicited text messages knowing I'm travelling and do not want to pay for their crap on the go. It scares me when you scroll and the next minute you're being inundated with ads from places you visited.

I don't have a solution other than turning off all data and becoming a hermit!

As for cellphone companies, I have been with Virgin mobile for years after ditching Koodo and Rodgers. Was never a Bell fan; despised how they offered me all these wonderful deals AFTER I'd ditched them.

They're still not the best, but better than the rest...
