I’m a trailing wife too and wasn’t exactly thrilled about moving to the other side of the world ( Canada) from New Zealand.
That was 27 years ago and now I wouldn’t go back home to live.
We had a pact: for the first year to not see the differences as problems but experience them and embrace them as part of the challenge of change. It saved my sanity. Finding like-minded friends is also key.
After that initial year we sat down together and discussed the good versus the bad and collectively decided to give it another year.
