I Snapped a Photo in Berlin. The Following Day, It Headlined a New York Times Article
It captured the current fragility of freedom of speech and the perils of war
It’s a morning ritual before I plant a foot on the floor and escape the warmth and comfort of the bed covers; I open my New York Times app and either do the Wordle or scroll through the headlines. Whichever comes first is usually indicative of my mood.
Sadly, it’s never tidings of goodwill in the news. Of late, the top stories revolve around the ongoing Israeli-Hamas conflict and Russia’s continuing “special military operation” with Ukraine. There are concerning aviation stories of bits falling off planes or being left inside parts they shouldn’t be left in — or some close calls in the air.
