I love how you have tackled this subject; you raise some excellent points.

I have a huge problem how people continually put celebrities on pedestals and how the media stalk their every move, just waiting for some juicy gossip.

There's also the flip side, where artists use their fame to influence people, especially when it goes against science or the greater good of mankind.

But for the most part, the public take artists of whatever genre at face value. If they don't like the music, they don't like them etc.

I'm speaking from a personal point of view since my daughter has an alternative fashion brand. Her and her partner may look like freaks but if anyone bothered to get to know them and why they look and do what they do, they would get it. Both are the kindest souls yet get spat on and hate talk just because of their presentation.

As for the artists you mentioned and their associations: yes ,it leaves a sour taste. It also can be the lyrics of their song or the true meaning behind the painting that we know nothing about, but just like it because it speaks in some shape or form.

Until, you find out the real story...
