I just had to go through this with our 16-year old cat.

As his human owner, I‘m responsible for his well-being. It’s up to me to make sure his life is good. And, when it’s no longer good enough, I will need to find the strength to decide it's time to say goodbye. How will I know when that time comes? How will I ever say goodbye? I owe it to him, though; this small creature has given me so much love and enriched my life so much, the least I can do is alleviate his suffering at the end.

I just had to go through this with our 16-year old cat. It was SO hard. But, she was suffering and I had to make that call. Miss her everyday, and still tear up even thinking about her ( as in now!!)
