I hear and feel for you - and all Americans who are wondering wtf is going on and how to fix 'it'. the trouble is - as you pointed out 'it' is huge with tenacious claws that have been digging in for generations and now leaving behind some significant wounds.

Having said that, there were 3 shootings in Montreal the last 24 hours and yet another in my hood. Of course we blame the Americans... but in reality societies worldwide are crumbling with toxicity, fuelled by the 'me' syndrome and the disparities between the wealthy and poor - just to name two things.
