I grew up in a non-tipping culture in NZ — it was not an option back in my day, although it is now.
Part of me loathes it; why should I pay the wages of your worker?! But, I have got used to it, and that it is just part of North American/European culture.
As for the booze store workers, tipping is not an option. To be honest, the warehouse workers probably earn more than people who train to care for the elderly. I won’t state that factually, but I know our healthcare providers get pathetic wages in comparison to many other unskilled jobs and I totally disagree with that.
