I am more a reader than a writer too: I wasn't when I first started out here 6 months ago,but realised, very quickly, that I had a LOT to learn - by reading.

I came to Medium base on its reputation after being rather disgruntled with the way Vocal operated. I wanted to have a voice, receive comments, and improve on my writing capability.

Vocal accepted everything without any dialogue. The beauty with Medium is the plethora of publications to suit a writers needs.There are huge discrepencies with how each pub vets submissions, but, over time, I've found my faves.

I've no idea where Medium execs are going with the platform, but I'm guessing, it is whatever direction makes them the most money.

In the end, the almighty buck rules....
