I am a firm believer of this too and this is why i left my marriage. It wasn't for another man; I was just all out of love and was very much aware of the potential impact it would have on my kids. When he walked in the door, I walked out, or went to another part of the house - and vice-versa. It was not the environment I wanted my kids to think was acceptable.
