Honestly, the same could be said for any job. I can pick from day one with my nursing students who will make it - and who won't. But there is always an exception to that thought. It is wrong to cut people off without giving them a chance. Admittedly, there are some that just DON"T get it... but over time, they will. Repeated failures and an inability to perform to par/pass a licensing exam will deal with that. I would hope anyone in this game who expects to earn big bucks and doesn't, either continues to write for their own pleasure or moves on.
