As a kiwi/canadian who has only experienced public health systems ( with private care as an option) it totally baffles me how crazy - and expensive! - the American system is. Even more so, that Americans vote against it! NZ is a classic example of how a two-tiered system can work. As a nurse, I have a huge problem understanding why quality healthcare anywhere could even be based on income. We are all human, regardless of wealth, and deserve a service when needed.
