Ah, the famous MRC! You played that one so brilliantly, Bicho!

ADHD is such an intriguing topic - or label. It seems many kids are labelled with the 'affliction' if they are causing trouble at school or unable to concentrate for long periods.

Personally, I think we need to take a step back at look at how we educate our kids. We've removed - or reduced - physical education time, encourage use of devices that can play havoc with our brains if we spend too much time on them and minimized hands-on experiences such as home economics and woodwork as they're too expensive to operate with all the materials etc.

Also, kids are often schlupped to school at ungodly hours so mum and dad can earn a decent wage, so they're deprived of sleep and downtime.

I dunno; that's my two cents worth!

For the record, my 24 year old son who struggled with school ( lacked interest and could not focus) went through a battery of tests a couple of years ago and was diagnosed with ADHD. I was astonished - and a bit embarrassed I didn't do anything about it when he was a kid. I honestly thought he was just being a kid!

Now that he has found his niche, he LOVES reading; he's doing his masters.

So, I'm dubious about labels.
